Sylva Roháčková
The top place certainly belongs to the director of the group. She is the only one to be a member of STYX for its entire existence since year 1992. All people named below are bound to her for plenty of beautiful experiences and sport achievements related with dance. She was beginning from zero thrice and always got excellent results. She can advise in case of problems and never stops hammering in the base rule: "Come what may, just don't get hurt!" She was not awarded The Teacher of the Year 1997 for nothing.

Katka is skilful and teachable girl, she plays voleyball in her free time. She throws herself to the beauty and magic of dance and acrobatics with a good spirit and attitude. She enjoys it and has no problem with training till late night. Our first training was interesting especially by the fact that I did not know what was coming. It was a very pleasant surprise, that Mrs. Roháčková prepared for me, and I am very grateful for it. As a dancing-partner Katka is very nice, that is why we use every opportunity to train more. We practise with smiles on our faces and in a good mood.

Happy, smiling, nice, selfsacrificing and sometimes pensive. This could be a short description of Eva but by far not a complete one because she is a wonderful person with many talents not only for sport. I won't be mistaken when I say that it is a pleasure to watch her performing because I can sense a joy of movement, good temper and passion in her. Enthusiatically and with no fear she plunges into unrehearsed acrobatic tricks and usually she manages it very well thanks to her experience and gymnastic background. Devotion, diligence and willingness to act are highly valued, Styx could not work properly without those. And Eva has more than enough of them. Unbeliveable will to help, substitute or take part in a time consuming events makes her one of the most important members because (simply said) she is reliable and one can enjoy cooperating with her. Conclusion? I am glad that we have met just like this because Eva has brought a lot of nice, pleasant and joyful experiences into my life. Immense confidence binds me to her and I respect her very much.

When one say "Honza", I see a boy with glasses and a big smile on his face who is always in a good temper, which he can pass on me whenever I am out of humour. He is very industrious and hardworking. Every time something is not working well he trains until he is absolutelly certain he can do it. Among other qualities I would like to mention that he does not give up. Always he tries to make a proper job of everything one way or another. He never lets it go just like that and it is very nice. One thing that is really typical for him is lateness. I have never seen anybody more unpunctual than him. It's not always his fault, but his stories explaining why he was late are really amusing. It belongs to him a he is just like this. But I have to say that I am glad I have him as it is only because of him that I can do what I like and dance in STYX dance group. For this I owe him a big gratitude. So "Thank You!" my wonderful (and sometimes a little bemused) dancer.

She came with the wave of new members in the autumn 2005 and dashed into acrobatics. Her advantage is that she got Lukáš as a partner for he has a lot of experiences.

Originally a football player became a dancer in the autumn 2006. He performes in pair with Eliška and devotes himself to acrobatics only marginally. Martin is a merriment itself, he is plotting some jokes all the time. He throws himself into everything with self-destroying enthusiasm.

Everytime I hear the name "Vojta" I see exactly this person immediately. I recollect the moments we have spent together - an endless line of trainings and performances, times of sorrow and happiness, our intricate relationship. Vojta is not an ordinary man, he can not be understood easily, he reveals his heart only to a few. Styx is about trust, about a harmony of a pair, that's why I have a chance to get at least a small glimpse of his heart. And I see a nice man living a tough life, who fights it and denies a defeat. The story of his life has projected itself to Vojta's activities in Styx too and has changed him into a responsible and stout boy with a great determination to participate in something as difficult as the training in this group and actually also with me is. Vojta is very sensible and able to help, which is sometimes the only thing that buoys me up and fills me with a lost self-confidence and a good temper. I can not imagine me being in Styx without Vojta; he means so much to me.
What else can I say? He is a remarkable man with a huge liking for training, he gives so much of his free time and energy to Styx; even though he has been seriously injured for a long time, he still attends every training and participates in even the least important performances and events without hesitation. And what's more? Mostly he does it with a good temper, a fellow-feeling for Styx and knowing that he could do everything to make us stick together as a team.

Niki is quite unique person one has to admire. We are the most senior pair at the moment and I can imagine only one description for the moments when we were doing our first shy acrobatic steps - long ago. It was during the years spent on high school when everything was simple and easy. We were training a lot and with enthusiasm and were advancing fast. In my graduation year we rehearsed "The Consonance" performance, which I consider the most beautiful thing I have achieved in STYX. There were other displays in the following years - they were more difficult, vivid, elaborate..., but The Consonance is simply "our" performance. We devised and rehearsed it by ourselves during a single demanding week with a minimal but appreciated intervention from others. It is in The Consonance, where Nikola's talent can flourish at the most. Her dancing is graceful and caressing, delightfully natural and altogether inimitable. She did not study it and does not think about it, she dances the way she feels it. One could watch her again and again. It was mostly for her that I did not leave STYX when I began to study in Prague, and I am grateful for it now. We have seen a lot together. Lovely moments and problems, successes as well as disappointments. We have survived serious injuries, acquired university diplomas and a plenty of marvellous memories. I appreciate immensely that we can still see each other and dance together. Niki is amazingly selfsacrificing, she could do her best for the others even in the moments when she alone would use some help. She knows how to comfort and encourage, she can find the right words in the moments of trouble. She is also modest and - among other things - beautiful. And I highly esteem the fact that I belong to those, who could have learnt that she hides the biggest beauty in her heart.

Fearless and determined as a salmon flinging itself against a weir, sturdy as a chopping block and shy as a doe. This is what Markéta is like (besides other things). She is very likeable, good-looking and intelligent, her favourite subject is math. She got on board in the middle of everything in her graduation year and she plunged into practicing with a speed of a hungry cheetah. Her progress was remarkable, but it has only a little impact on her self-confidence, if any. She presses herself very hard since the beginning and all the time she is trying to convince herself and the others that she is not good at all, that she spoils everything and has no idea what is she really doing in STYX. Especially during the first days (2008 autumn training camp) she was pulling her t-shirt over her head like a frightened ostrich on every occasion and surely she would have hidden under the floor if there had been even a tiniest chance to succeed. Since then she has spread the infection of her unusual and very funny gestures and signs among some of the people (to their horror), she has stopped hiding in her t-shirt and has begun to plug her nose like a diver sometimes. And also she has avanced unbelievably. Silently and attracting no interest she toils as a slave and with help from some other members (mostly Martina) she managed to become a part of several performances. Anyhow she still apologizes even for things she did not do and at least on the outside she does not admit that she is quite good.

By far the youngest member of the group. Because she was solving the Kokos it had been known about her that she was thrilled by STYX and could be a good acrobat (which were sought after at that time) even before she began to study at GMK. She started to train with Honza after she broke down the disapproval of her parents and gave up some another free time activity.

Together with Michael Urban they were in on the ground floor of current STYX. At first they were trying acrobatics with Eva, later he began to train with Nikola and they created an inseparable acrobatic pair. Besides other displays he rehearsed an acrobatic show with Nikola and tango with Eliška. Even though he left Bílovec and became an university student a long time before and has to commute from Prague, still he does not want to say dance goodbye.
