About Us

Who we are

The STYX Dance Group, that belongs to The Nicholas Copernicus Grammar School in Bílovec, have been already working for fifteen years. Our members have been recruiting purely of the school students, but unfortunately their activity always ceased after a successful passing of the final exam. Presently this rule doesn't hold true any more and a large part of the group is composed of successful graduates. The director of the ensemble is mgr. Sylva Roháčková, who teaches biology and P.E. in the school.

What we do

The one thing, that distinguish STYX of other dance groups, is difficult acrobatics done in pairs. Similar is to be seen only on professional level of mixed pair's aerobic or in figure skating. Beside that a dance of various genres belongs to the preformances naturally. Classical and modern, solo or in pairs and even a choreographically difficult display of a lot of dancers is not a problem. Suitably chosen music is also an integral ingredient of every performance. We often adapt songs on our own to match the choreography perfectly.

Where we are to be seen

We can be seen on GMK Bílovec Graduation Ball every year and usually present new displays here. We perform on various balls during the season and also participate in contests of stage-displays, for example in Havířov or Hlučín.
